In association with the Suffolk Digital Cinema Network
WFS formed a Film Sub-Committee and joined the Suffolk Digital Cinema Network in early 2008, which provided training for the specialist Film equipment available for hire. As a result we have been able to have Film Events in the Hall, which have been very well attended, under the Festival umbrella. Whilst we normally aim to show Classic Movies, on the 22nd December 2008 we had the first of our Children's Film afternoons, showing the Dudley Moore Film "Santa Claus, the Movie" with a fantastic turnout of over 160 children, Mums, Grandparents, and even some Dads! Due to the success of this event, this has become a regular feature of our annual Film programmes. The Festival Classic Film Sub-Committee comprises Lionel Denny, Chris Semmens and Mike Elson, plus willing helpers, from the Festival Committee and Friends. Festival Chairman, Jenny Semmens was instrumental in arranging the Children's Film events and other events are under discussion for the Children - more information to follow.
